The Bryant Hornets junior varsity and sophomore football teams completed their respective 2015 schedules on Monday night. At Cabot, the JV team, playing in a driving rainstorm, suffered a 16-8 defeat to the Panther JV.
Jeremiah Long ran for the Bryant touchdown and caught a pass for the two-point conversion.
At Malvern, the BHS sophomore team battled the Leopards to a 0-0 draw in steady rain.
“The defense played extremely hard and didn’t allow Malvern inside the 25,” reported Bryant coach Clint Shadwick, who praised the play of Nick Smith, Baylor Gray and Antonio Todd.
“Offensively, we were inside the 5 once and couldn’t score,” he related. “We had another drive stall around the 15 due to a fumble. Rondale Messer, Matt Pool and Matthew Sandidge had good nights on offense.”
