FAYETTEVILLE — For those who haven't heard, read or seen it elsewhere, it was a big night for Jessie Taylor of Bryant[more] in her final high school softball game. She ripped a three-run homer in each end of the annual Arkansas High School Coaches Association All-Star doubleheader at Bogle Park last night and was named the All-Star MVP. Her Lady Hornets teammate Kayla Sory added a clutch two-out, two-run single in the first game.
Taylor, Sory and the East team, coached by Bryant's Debbie Clark, swept the twinbill, 8-5 and 11-10. Both games went eight innings.
Over at Baum Stadium, the East was gaining a sweep as well. Bryant's Tyler Nelson started the first game as the lead-off hitter and came into the second game off the bench and had a hit. With Bryant's head coach Kirk Bock at the helm, the East won the opener 4-1 and the nightcap 8-7.
