At a ceremony at the Bryant Boys and Girls Club this morning, the Club presented Dena Wood, the mother of World Series Champion Travis Wood, a limited edition commemorative t-shirt to coincide with the Homecoming Celebration for the Chicago Cubs’ left-hander who was a 2005 graduate of Bryant High School, this Friday Nov. 11.
To purchase the Official Travis Wood Welcome Home t-shirt, the Bryant Boys and Girls Club has a link on its Facebook Page to assist and for requesting a desired size for the opportunity to secure a little piece of local and national history. Fans can also go in person to the Bryant Boys and Girls Club at 6401 Boone Road to make your order and pay.
Each shirt will have to be purchased individually and the cost per shirt is $20 but each donation above that amount helps continue the mission of providing a safe and secure place to be a kid. The Bryant Boys & Girls Clubs organization serves over 650 students each school year and almost 1,000 in the summer. For more information, visit www.bryantbgc.org
The shirts that are purchased via Facebook or in person at the Bryant Boys & Girls Club, can be picked up Thursday and Friday at the Club between 2-6 p.m. On Friday, all remaining shirts will be available at a table outside the main gate of Bryant Hornet Football Stadium and must be paid for in cash.
