The North Little Rock Charging Wildcats scored on a penalty kick with 8:01 left in[more] regulation Thursday night to pull even with the Bryant Hornets then neither team could score the rest of the way.
The result was a 2-2 tie in the Hornets home opener of the 2013 season.
Bryant will get back to action on Saturday at a tournament in Cabot, opening at 9 a.m., against the host Panthers.
Thursday's match was tied 1-1 at the half. Corey Ballew accounted for Bryant’s goal off an assist from Blake Reed at the 13:58 mark. North Little Rock tied it at 10:29.
Josh Lowery put the Hornets back on top with a goal at 25:35 of the first half.
“We had a ton of shots on goal that we didn’t finish and it cost us,” said Hornets coach Jason Hay. “North Little Rock out-worked us most of the night.”
The coach praised the play of his keeper Slade Lewis.
“He had a very good game with several good saves off some well-placed free kicks,” Hay said.
“We will regroup and get ready to play this weekend,” he added.
