NORTH LITTLE ROCK — After splitting their two pool play matches in pool play at an eighth-grade tournament hosted by North Little Rock, the Bryant Blue Lady Hornets of Bethel Middle School won the Silver bracket of the event. Bryant Blue defeated The Anthony School then Northwood then 2-0 to advance to the bracket final against Jacksonville, which they won 2-1.
The tournament was held Saturday, Sept. 21.
In the final, Kaycee White led the team with six service aces. Reagan Dabbs added four aces to go with a team-high four kills. Tori Allen delivered with three kills while Lauren Hart served up three aces to go with a kill. Ashlyn Lee contributed two kills, an ace and eight assists.
Against Northwood, Lee recorded a whopping 17 aces at the service line to go with nine assists. Lauren Hart added seven aces with Lauren Brantley, Dabbs and Regan Ryan picking up one apiece.
At the net, Hart finished with three kills. Dabbs and Ashley Cushing contributed two kills each and Brittney Warner had one.
Dabbs had six aces and Lee three in the win over The Anthony School. Lee also contributed eight assists and Dabbs added a pair of kills. Allen, Warner and Rylee Bolls added two kills each. At the service line, White, Abby Henson and Katelin Cotton picked up two aces apiece with Ryan adding one.
