The Bryant Blue Hornets seventh and eighth grade teams of Bethel Middle School each forged victories over their counterparts from Hot Springs Lakeside Thursday night at the Bethel gym.
In the eighth grade game, Bethel won 36-19. Sam Chumley led the way with 12 points. Luke Welch and Matt Sandidge finished with 6 points. Interim coach Dale Jones lauded the defensive play of Malcolm Moody.
In the seventh grade game, a 39-22 victory for Bethel, Randy Thomas and Tyler Oneil finished with 8 points apiece. Josh Robinson added 6.
In a seventh grade B game, C.J. Davis and Andrew Lorio drew praise from Jones. Will McEntire scored 7 points for the Hornets.
The Bethel eighth grade team will play next on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Bryant White. The seventh grade squad is set to play at a tournament in Bauxite on Saturday.
