CABOT — The Bryant Blue Hornets seventh grade basketball team of Bethel Middle School concluded the[more] 2011-12 season with a win and a loss at a season-ending tournament at Cabot Saturday.
The Hornets finished 14-4 on the season after a 28-24 win over Little Rock Christian and a 28-24 loss to Vilonia.
In the opener, Desmond Duckworth finished with a team-high 14 points including four 3-pointers. Calvin Allen added 9 points and Caylin Allen 5.
Duckworth connected on four more triples in the second game on the way to 18 points. Calvin Allen and Caylin Allen each scored 3.
“Desmond had a very good day,” acknowledged Bryant Blue coach Derek McGrew. “We faced some stiff competition. I am very proud of these young men and the season they had. This group just wins. They are under sized but have a ton of heart. They play very hard and are fun to watch. I look forward to next year.”
