After enduring a pair of heartbreaking last-second losses in its previous outings, the Bryant Blue Hornets eighth grade boys team took out their frustrations on the Cabot North Panthers on Tuesday night at the Bethel Middle School gym.
John Winn pumped in 18 points and Brandon Warner 15 as the Hornets prevailed 40-25 to improve to 7-5 on the season.
The team includes Jake Acord, Austin Green, Ryan Hall, Jason Hastings, Brushawn Hunter, Andrew Kincaid, Blaine Knight, Brian Tackett, Paul Tierney, Brandon Warner, John Winn, Mark Winn, Dylan Wolf and Brendan Young.
The Hornets pushed out to a 12-4 lead in the first quarter to gain the upper hand. It was 16-10 at the half then Bryant Blue put together a strong[more] third quarter to build a 32-21 lead going into the final period.
Mark Winn added 4 points for the Hornets, Green had 3 and Tierney 1.
Bryant Blue visits Bryant White on Monday, Dec. 13, at the Bryant Middle School gym.
