The Bryant Blue Lady Hornets eighth grade team of Bethel Middle School closed out a 14-3[more] season with a game in which everyone got to play on the way to a 44-6 victory of the Lighthouse Charter School Lady Wolves of Jacksonville Monday night.
Eight players contributed to the scoring, led by Kendal Rogers’ 10 points. Reagan McCormick added 9, Riley Hill, Ti Foote and Sarah Kennedy 6 each. Morgan Walters scored 3 with Bethany Hutchison and Penny Smith contributing 2 each.
Kennedy collected nine rebounds, Kasey Ward five, Megan Kuchinski and Smith four apiece and Foote 3.
Rogers and Walters each had two steals with Walters also coming through with two assists.
“I am so proud of this group of girls and all of the improvements they have made over the past two years,” stated Lady Hornets coach Rhonda Hall. “They have grown as young women and basketball players. I will truly miss this group of young ladies and look forward to seeing them in a Lady Hornet uniform in the years ahead.”
Bethel broke out to a 13-2 lead by the end of the first quarter and held a 27-6 advantage at the half, closing out the win by holding the Lady Wolves scoreless in the second half.
