The Bryant Blue Hornets eighth grade team of Bethel Middle School won its third game in a[more] row in the new year on Monday night, rolling past the Anthony School Panthers, 40-23.
The Hornets improved to 10-3 overall with their next outing set for Jan. 22 against Bryant White, a team that has accounted for two of their losses.
Desmond Duckworth led seven different Hornets who contributed to the scoring. He had 12 and Calvin Allen 9. Jeffery Hastings and Kameron Fox added 6 each with Chase Kincaid pitching in with 3. Caylin Allen and Hunter Handly scored 2 apiece.
Bryant Blue pushed out to a 10-4 lead by the end of the first quarter. It was 16-7 at the half and 24-17 going into the final period as the Hornets closed strongly.
