NORTH LITTLE ROCK — The Bryant Blue Lady Hornets eighth grade volleyball team of Bethel Middle School sent on the road on Monday night and came away with a hard-earned 2-0 win over their counterparts from North Little Rock, 25-23, 25-19.
“The girls showed a lot of heart,” stated Bethel coach Melissa Bragg. “They came back from a 9-point deficit in the first game. That’s when Ashley Davis put six consecutive serves together.
“In the second game, Brooke Abney served six in a row, with two aces, to put us ahead,” she continued. “The girls never gave up. They kept their heads up and battled the whole match. I’m very proud of how they represented themselves and Bethel.”
Davis also had two digs to help the Bethel defense. Grace Sams finished with four digs, two aces and a kill while Kenedy Kuchinski served up two aces and contributed a dig.
Truli Bates finished with a block, as did Syrah Mian. Cora Edwards and Garcie Seyffert finished with two digs apiece. Erin Thompson and Kiarra Beard added a dig apiece.
The Lady Hornets are off now until they travel to Cabot South on Monday, Sept. 14.
