LITTLE ROCK — The Bryant Blue Hornets of Bethel Middle School will play for the seventh grade championship of[more] the Wildcat Shootout at Episcopal Collegiate Academy after defeating Lighthouse Charter, 48-38, on Friday night.
The Hornets finished pool play undefeated and improved to 5-0 overall this season with the victory. They’re set to take on Lighthouse again in the finals today at 2 p.m.
The Hornets had to come from behind to win. They trailed 11-4 after a quarter but surged to a 22-21 edge at the half. They extended the margin to 33-29 by the end of the third period.
Calvin Allen pumped in 23 points to lead the way. Desmond Duckworth added 16 with Jeffery Hastings tossing in 4, Chase Kincaid 3 and Josh Bonner 2.
