MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Former Bryant High School infielder Lucas Castleberry graduated from Christian Brothers University in Memphis Saturday with a Master’s of Business Administration after playing two seasons at CBU.
In his two years at Christian Brothers, Castleberry played in 61 games. As a senior, he was the Buccaneers’ second baseman, hitting .333 and leading the team in hits, triples, home runs, total bases, sacrifice bunts, runs, assists, on-base percentage, slugging percentage and batting average. He finished fifth in the Gulf South Conference with 36 double plays turned, one shy of the school record set in 2004.
He also excelled in the classroom, graduating with his master’s in three semesters, earning a spot on the Gulf South Conference Academic Honor Roll in both seasons.
Castleberry started his college career at Ouachita Baptist, where he graduated early in December 2014. He graduated with a double-major in finance and accounting, and the early graduation along with a redshirt year due to a foot injury allowed him to graduate with two seasons of eligibility remaining.
