Bryant 12’s open Little League State tourney with 9-3 victory

PIGGOTT — The Bryant 12-and-under All-Stars opened the 2015 Little League State Tournament with a 9-3 win over the Malvern All-Stars on Saturday. After taking Sunday off, Bryant is set to play the Pine Bluff All-Stars at 6 p.m., on Monday in the winners bracket finals.

Bryant’s team, managed by Greg Riggs with assistance from Scott Allison and Matt Orender, includes Aiden Adams, Kannon Allison, Tyler Bates, Austin Ledbetter, Hunter Littleton, Conner Martin, Cameron McDonald, Justin Orender, Hart Penfield, Ryan Riggs, Blaine Sears, Brandon Thomisee and Joshua Turner.

The team is vying for a bid to the Southwest Regional Tournament in Waco, Texas, starting Aug. 7, then the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa., starting Aug. 20.

Game details will be posted when they become available.
