The Bryant 12-and-under All-Stars will be representing the Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken League in the[more] National Youth Baseball Tournament this weekend in Memphis. And their first game there will be televised on the MLB Network.
Team members include Logan Allen, Beaux Bonvillian, Drew Brown, Cameron Coleman, Jake East, Jeffery Hastings, Dylan Hurt, D.J. McKinney, Austin Kelly, Hayden Knowles, Preston Kyzer, Garrett Misenheimer, Aaron Orender, Matthew Sandidge and Scott Schmidt. Manager Darren Hurt is assisted by Rick Brown and Randy Kelly.
The tournament is designed to bring together the World Series champions from all the different youth league organizations. According to Keith Vangilder of the Bryant Athletic Association, Cal Ripken Baseball was in need of a representative when the World Series teams were unable to attend and Bryant was invited at the last minute.
The team debuts on Friday at 10:30 a.m. They’ll open against the PONY league representative Tamianmi from Miami, Fla. At 3:30 p.m., they’ll take on the San Diego Stars, the reps from the AABC.
On Saturday, Bryant will take on Team Florida, from Lynn Haven, Fla., the representative of the USSSA, at 9 a.m., to wrap up pool play. The game will be shown live on MLB Network. The games will also be broadcast online at http://mlb.mlb.com/youthmajors/

Along with Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken, USSSA, PONY and AABC, there will be teams from AAU, NABF, Dixie and Super Series at the tournament.
Pool play winners and runners up will advance to bracket play on Sunday with all three games to be televised by the MLB Network with the semifinals starting at 9:30 a.m. and noon then the championship game at 5 p.m.
