Last week, State Senator Shane Broadway received two endorsements in his campaign for Lt. Governor.
The National Rifle Association and The Morning News in Springdale have "strongly" endorsed Broadway's campaign.[more]
"Senator Broadway has an exmplary record of past service in the Arkansas State legislature and clearly illustrates his commitment to protecting the rights of law-abiding firearm owners and sportsmen," said NRA spokesman Anthony Roulette. "Based upon his proven record and firm pledge to continue to serve as an advocate for Arkansas' law-abiding gun owners, he received an A-rating from the NRA-PVF."
Saturday, The Morning News announced its endorsement for Broadway, as well.
"Senator Broadway did much of the heavy lifting of education reform," the press release stated. "He took on the jobs and issues nobody else did … it was Broadway who led a dedicated and bipartisan group of lawmakers through the hammering out of the details.
"All this shows that Broadway has won the respect of his peers – Republican and Democrat," the article continued. "The lieutenant governor cannot make people listen to him or take his advice. Broadway, however, isn’t likely to be ignored. His view is one lawmakers should listen to, especially in this age of term limits."
Broadway is also going to be in an AETN debate with Rupublican opponent Mark Darr on Tuesday morning at the Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas. The debate begins at 10 a.m.
