Eight players contributed to the scoring as the Bryant Blue Lady Hornets seventh grade team of Bethel Middle School concluded its season Thursday night with a 32-10 win over Little Rock Episcopal at the Bethel gym.
Lauren Burnett led the way with 9 points. Mary Catherine Selig, Rachel Studdard, Ashlyn Thompson and Emily Cox scored 4 each with Allysa Fason adding 3. Bailey Brazil and Grace Oullette pitched in with 2 apiece.
The Lady Hornets concluded the season with a 10-4 record.
“This is one of the most enjoyable teams I have ever coached,” declared Bethel head coach Rhonda Hall. “They worked hard in practice and in games. They just had a never-quit attitude. When they made a mistake, they got up and just tried again, which is a great quality for a team.
“Most of all, they were a great group of young ladies who always act appropriately, made good grades and are fun to be around,” she added.
The Lady Hornets built a 12-0 lead by the end of the first quarter and held a 21-6 advantage at the half. It was 26-8 by going into the fourth quarter.
