LITTLE ROCK — Trailing 27-17 going into the fourth quarter, the Bryant Blue Hornets eighth grade team of Bethel Middle School came all the way back to tie the E-Stem Mets 33-33 at Little Rock Episcopal’s Wildcat Shootout.
But E-Stem prevailed in the end to win 36-33.
“We had some controversial calls at the end but no excuses,” Lincoln stated. “We lost because we didn’t deserve to win. We missed 18 free throws and had 12 turnovers.”
Blue led 9-7 after a quarter then trailed 16-15 at the half before the Mets’ surge in the third quarter.
“We made a good run but couldn’t get over the hump,” Lincoln stated.
The Hornets were led by Randy Thomas, who scored a game-high 16 points.
Blue, now 3-2, gets back in action on Monday, Dec. 8, at Conway Blue.
