LITTLE ROCK — The Bryant Blue Hornets eighth grade team of Bethel Middle School opened the Anthony School basketball tournament on Monday with a 42-33 win over the host team.
Randy Thomas led all scorers with 10 points for the Hornets, who advance to play the winner of a game between Little Rock Episcopal and Joe T. Robinson in the finals on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
“We still need a lot of work,” commented Bethel coach Dominic Lincoln. “We are not a good team right now but have all the pieces to be a good team if we put the work in.
“I was able to play all the players through the game,” he noted. “Our effort was high but our execution was terrible. I was happy we were able to win a game where we played below our best.”
