Carlton Billingsley has filed the necessary paperwork to be on the Nov. 4 general election ballot for Bryant City Council Ward 4, Position 2.
“I care about the community and seek an opportunity to lead the community in a positive direction for all residents in the city of Bryant,” he said. “As a life-long resident of Saline County, I’ve been privileged to earn his high school diploma, attend church, work in his family owned business, Floors & More, the past 22 years, and enjoy being active throughout the community.”
Billingsley received his college degree in U.S. history with a minor in religious education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He is married to Kim Adams Billingsley and they have three boys who attend school in the Bryant district.
“I support various professional and community boards and organizations that have prepared me to be able to lead in this current seat for election,” he said.
Billingsley added that he is very involved in the Bryant Chamber of Commerce promoting business growth and sustainability, and connecting the residents to local businesses. He has served on the Bryant Chamber board of directors since January 2012 and as an officer of the board as Secretary for year 2013. He’s been a member of the Civic/Government committee for the Chamber since 2009; served on the Bryant Recycling committee in 2009-2010. This year, he became Chairman of the Bryant Economic Development committee, and serves as a member of the Saline County Economic Development Corporation.
Billingsley also serves as the Chairman of Monster Madness (community Halloween event benefiting the Bryant Boys & Girls Club) 2012-2014, and serves as a member of the Bryant Fall Fest committee. He has also been nominated for man of the year award for the city of Bryant the past two years; an award presented at the Bryant Chamber annual winter banquet.
He is a current commissioner of the City of Bryant Planning Commission, a post he’s held since January 2013.
In addition to his community service, Billingsley has been selected by his industry peers to serve on numerous professional boards and organizations as well. He has served on FCA Network (a top 50 U.S. flooring retailer organization out of Chicago) Dealer Advisory Board since 2006. Billingsley has also served on Starnet (commercial flooring co-op) World Wide Advisory Council since 2012, and has been Chairman of the Environmental Affairs committee since 2012.
He said he also enjoys his time coaching baseball at Bryant Athletic Association and Upward basketball at Indian Springs Baptist Church.
“I care about all the residents who make up the city of Bryant from Senior Adults to kids playing in the parks, and the business community as well,” he said. “I wants to lead in a positive direction for the city that will encourage unity in offering the best for each individual resident, economic growth/development for our business community, safe activities for Senior Adults and kids growing up to be an integral part of the community. I want to help put us in position to be the best in everything we do for every facet of our community.”
