The Conway White Wampus Cats eighth grade team outscored the Bryant White Hornets of Bryant Middle School, 16-2, in the third quarter on the way to a 47-23 win on Tuesday night.
The Hornets trailed just 14-13 after the first quarter and 20-15 at the half before the Wampus Cats took control of the game in the third quarter.
“We had our moments but you just have to say that Conway White is a better team than us right now,” said Bryant White coach Heath Long. “There were times that we did a good job of moving the basketball and overall the effort was there. We struggled with their athleticism and size, and they can really score the ball.”
Kaevon Jones led the Hornets with 10 points. Brandon Hopkins added 4 points and Scott Schmidt had 3.
Bryant White Is set to play Hot Springs Lakeside tonight.
