PEARCY — The Bryant Blue Hornets eighth grade team of Bethel Middle School put together an 18-point second quarter to break open their game at Lake Hamilton on Monday. They went on to a[more] 51-29 romp to improve to 4-3 on the season.
The team includes Jake Acord, Austin Green, Ryan Hall, Jason Hastings, Brushawn Hunter, Andrew Kincaid, Blaine Knight, Brian Tackett, Paul Tierney, Brandon Warner, John Winn, Mark Winn, Dylan Wolfe and Brendan Young.
The Hornets open play in the Wildcat Shootout at Little Rock Episcopal Collegiate at 6 p.m., today against Rose City.
At Lake Hamilton, they pushed out to a 9-4 lead by the end of the first quarter then erupted to build a 27-14 halftime lead. It was 39-24 by the end of the third quarter.
Warner and John Winn led with 13 points. Hunter added 10, Hastings 7, Mark Winn 4, Hall 3 and Wolfe 1.
