LITTLE ROCK — Gage Pearson, Ross Smith and Reggie Clemons each won their weight division as the Bryant Hornets wrestling team opened the 2015-16 season at the Central Classic on Saturday at Central High School.
Overall, the Hornets finished fourth out of 12 teams, according to Coach Dondre Harris.
Pearson won at the 106-pound level while Smith won in the 126-pound division. Clemons took top honors in the 126-pound junior varsity division.
For the varsity, Nathan Mayes earned runner-up in the 195-pound competition and Ben Adair was third at 152.
Dylan Tazelaar was second in the 160-pound division for the Bryant JV. Dax Clatworthy at 126, Quinton Yullie at 138 and Chandler Davis at 285 were each third in the junior varsity competition.
Bryant is set to compete at an event in Greenbrier on Tuesday, Dec. 8.
