BHS journalists garner 119 awards at state convention

These BHS students along with principal Randy Rutherford, center, received top individual awards at the ASPA convention.

Congratulations to these yearbook, newspaper and literary magazine students for these 119 awards won Thursday and Friday at the Arkansas Scholastic Press Association Convention in Little Rock.

Top awards in state:

Randy Rutherford – Administrator of the Year

Veronica Heatherly – Designer of the Year

Austin Esry – Runner up to Designer of the Year

Caitlynn Kimbrough – first runner up to Business Manager of the Year

The 2009 Hornet yearbook received the top award in state, a superior in general excellence and the 2008 yearbook received the All Arkansas Award, designated it the top yearbook in state.

The school newspaper received an overall superior award and received the All Arkansas Award, designating it the top school newspaper in the state.
