The Bryant High School Jazz Band will present its next concert on Monday, May 11, at 6:30 p.m.
The concert will be held at Indian Springs Baptist Church in Bryant. Admission is free to the public.
The Jazz band annually performs each May at Lake DeGray, however this year's concert was rained out. This concert has been scheduled to replace the missed performance opportunity at Lake DeGray.[more]
The 21-member ensemble will be performing a variety of musical genres, including Big Band Jazz, Rock, Funk, ballads, and Latin. The band will feature its vocalist, Maria Pinkerton on five of its set list including the 1954 Jazz hit "Something's Gotta Give" by Johnny Mercer. From traditional Big Band classics like Count Basie's "One O'Clock Jump" to a fresh new funk piece titled "Feather Report" by Kris Berg, there will be something to please everyone in the audience.
"We are very grateful for the staff and congregation of Indian Springs Baptist Church for allowing us the use of their facilities," said Chad Green, director of bands for Bryant schools. "They have been amazing to work with putting this concert together on such short notice. The concert should last approximately one hour. Please make plans to attend the Bryant High School Jazz Band in concert!"
