HOT SPRINGS — Though the competition disappeared for various reasons including sickness, the Bryant Hornets golf team got a chance to play at Diamondhead Country Club on Tuesday and Scott Schmidt turned in the top 18-hole round of 80.
“Like I informed the kids, it’s not always about playing a team,” said Bryant coach Keith Dale. “We played the course — and Diamondhead is a tough course.”
Tanner Caton carded a round of 82 and Landon Allison shot 85. Brendon Morton turned in an 89 with Drew Darbonne and Zach Byars each finished at 94.
The Lady Hornets are scheduled to play at First Tee in Little Rock while the boys are playing at Hurricane Country Club when both return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
