The Bryant High School golf team wrapped up the regular season with a four-team match at Longhills Golf Club on Thursday. The boys finished second only to Cabot while edging Benton and Conway. The girls finished third behind Conway and Benton but edged out Cabot.[more]
Cabot's Hunter Smith was individual medalist among the boys with a nine-hole round of 34. The Cabot team amassed a score of 141.
Bryant finished at 155, two strokes ahead of Benton and four up on Conway. Tyler Green finished one stroke off the medalist pace with a 35 to pace the Hornets. Austin Harmon finished at 37 while Brandon Crosby shot a 40 and Chase Thornton a 43 to complete the scoring quartet. Chris Harris finished with a 44.
Among the girls, Conway’s Summer Rochelle was individual medalist with a round of 39. The Lady Wampus Cats finished with a team total of just 125. Benton combined on a 141 with Bryant at 148 and Cabot at 150.
Morgan Morehead and Savanna Cathey finished with the low scores for the Lady Hornets at 47. Carlie Miller carded a 54 while Caitlin Lawson struggled to a 70.
The Lady Hornets will play on the Mountain Springs side of Greystone Country Club at the Class 7A State Tournament Sept. 28-29. The boys State is Oct. 5-6 at Greystone.
