BHS Dance Team lauded at ASU camp

The Bryant Varsity Dance Team attended camp at Arkansas State University at Jonesboro with 13 other teams from Arkansas and Tennessee.

The first competition of the year is at camp and they are excited to say that they won first place in Home Routine, received the superior trophy for blue ribbons, the Drill Down trophy for the most team Drill Downs for the week and the Spirit Stick.

Senior Captain Cara Prichard was the last girl standing for the final Drill Down of the camp and was named Drill Down Queen.

The team had all five girls that tried out for UDA All-American make it. They are Prichard, Senior Captain Katy Mozisek, Juniors Amy Whit and Aimee Tedford and Sophomore Callie Akers.

Other girls on the team are Senior Captain MacKenzie Cole — she was representing Bryant High School at Girls State until Friday when she joined the team — Juniors Betsy Browning, Jennifer Bull, Paige Farnum, Katherine Kordsmeier, Mariah McElroy, Erin Moser, Lauren Penefield, Samantha Sanders, Erica Reeves, and Sophomores Shelby Ellison, Morganne Gillespie, Brooke Kenney, Olivia Lovell, Katy McCreight, and Aaryn Murdock.

The team is coached by Laura Wooten.
