The 2014-15 high school basketball season resumes for four Bryant teams with three holiday tournaments over the next week.
The Lady Hornets’ varsity team is headed to Beebe while the freshman girls and boys teams travel to Lake Hamilton on Saturday. The Hornets’ varsity heads to Fort Smith on Monday.
The action begins in the Beebe First Security Bank/Rep. Jeremy Gillam Holiday Tournament at 4 p.m. for the Lady Hornets when they take on the Searcy Lady Lions. It’s a rematch of a Dec. 13 meeting at a tournament in Conway in which the Lady Hornets extracted a 54-51 win.
The Bryant girls are 5-4 on the season after an 0-3 start. On Monday, they’ll play either Beebe or Sylvan Hills.
At Lake Hamilton on Saturday, the Hornets freshman begin play at 11:15 a.m., against the Hot Springs Junior Trojans. At 3, the Lady Hornets take on the Central Arkansas Christian Junior Lady Mustangs.
Both tournaments conclude on Tuesday.
Monday, the Hornets, 4-5, open play in the annual Coke Classic at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith’s Stubblefield Center. They’ll play Pulaski Academy at 4:15 p.m.
The Bryant boys are coming off a 53-33 win over Watson Chapel on Dec. 16, which came on the heels of a 41-32 win over North Pulaski to wrap up a tournament in Conway on Dec. 13.
The Coke Classic wraps up on Wednesday.
