As was the case a year ago when the Bryant Hornets baseball team opened its season, weather forced the cancellation of two non-conference games before the team headed to a tournament in Texas.
The Hornets open play in the 2014 Midway Tournament in Waco on Thursday, March 6, at 2 p.m., against the A&M Consolidated Tigers of College Station, Texas. They play again that night at 7 against the host Midway Panthers of Waco.
On Friday, Bryant faces the Waxahachie Warriors, which hosted the tournament last year. The two teams will meet at 2 p.m. Saturday, the Hornets close out the event with a 10:30 a.m. contest against the Raiders of Robert E. Lee High School of Tyler, Texas.
Last year, with no game action besides the preseason benefit game, the Hornets went 2-3 in the tournament at Waxahachie.

The Hornets always make us proud of them. They show what “teamwork” is all about . Keep up the good work!
