LITTLE ROCK — Tyler O’Neal and Keethan Hudson each contributed two touchdown runs as the Bryant Blue Hornets eighth grade football team of Bethel Middle School improved to 2-0 on the season with a 34-0 win over the Holy Souls Wabbits of Little Rock on Thursday night.
Josh Robinson caught a pair of passes for the Hornets and, on defense, Hunter Ulmer came up with an interceptions.
“(Tyler) and (Keethen) both ran the ball well,” said Bethel head coach Shane Clancy. “Our offensive line did a good job of opening holes all night.
“The defense played well,” he added. “They did a great job as a unit, got a sack and forced two turnovers.
“I was proud of the guys and how they played,” the coach asserted.
The Hornets are set to host Lake Hamilton prior to the freshman game at Hornets Stadium on Thursday, Sept.18.
“We had a series on offense where we got three penalties in a row,” Clancy noted. “We have to get that corrected. Overall, I was happy with the outcome but we will get in the film room and make corrections and continue to improve every week if the kids continue to work in practice.”
