The Bryant Blue Lady Hornets eighth grade volleyball team of Bethel Middle School improved to 12-2-1 with a 25-8, 25-18 win over the Anthony School Thursday at the Bethel gym.
In a seventh grade match, the Lady Hornets prevailed 25-19, 27-25.
Ella Reynolds had four kills, two blocks and a dig in the eighth grade match. Addison Funk and Erin Key each had three kills while Skylar Risk and Lexi Feagin added a kill apiece.
Ashton Inman contributed a pair of blocks and Lucie Van Roekel had one. Abbey Inman had eight assists and Olivia German produced the team’s only service ace.
The Lady Hornets frustrated the Anthony School team with a host of digs. Jillian Colclasure led with nine. Abbey Inman finished with six, Alyssa Hernandez and Lauren Seyffert five each. Madelyn Martin came up with four while Risk, Funk and German contributed three apiece. Feagin had two. Maddie Thomas, Grace Holley, Anna Barnes and Key finished with one each.
In the JV match, the Lady Hornets were tough at the service line. Lily Studdard was good on all nine of her serves with four aces. Lawson Godwin was 5 for 5 while Riley Hudson and Savannah Rye each got in all three of their serves. Jade Rivers was 2 for 2 and Rachel Cicero got a serve in.
Claire Watson had three aces. Scarlet Matlock served for two aces with Rivers and Lauren Baker getting one each.
Rivers also led the team with two kills. Riley Hudson had two as well with Matlock adding one. Rivers came up with six blocks and Watson had one. Studdard led with three assists.
Defensively, Watson finished with 10 digs. Matlock, Baker, Godwin and Rye each had six digs. Hudson had two.
The Bethel eighth grade team returns to action on Monday against Conway Blue at the Bryant Middle School gym. The seventh grade team is set for a tournament in Conway on Saturday, Oct. 1.
