In a dual match at Hurricane Country Club, the Benton High School golf team swept the Bryant High School squads on Wednesday.
Brendan Little carded a 37 over nine holes to lead the Panthers to a 159-174 team victory. Meanwhile, Abby Lee turned in a 44 over nine the earn individual medalist honors among the girls as the Lady Panthers combined on a team total of 165 to the Lady Hornets’ 167.
For the Bryant girls, Katie Edwards finished at 49 to earn runner-up status individually. Maddie Stephens was third overall with a 54. Benton’s Alyssa Curry carded a 60 with Allie Rasberry turning in a round of 61. Brooklyn Waller contributed a 64 to the Bryant total.
Benton’s Braden Smith recorded the second best round among the boys with a 38. Reagan Jones and Drew Chilton each turned in rounds of 40.
Bryant was paced by Scott Schmidt, Tanner Caton and Brendan Morton who each finished at 41. Clayton Harbour carded a 45 and Drew Darbonne finished at 47 for the Hornets.
In addition, Bryan Collins shot 52 and Landon Allison 54. Caleb Barnes turned in a round of 60 with Alex McDonald finishing at 63.
For Benton, Gunner Hughes shot 42, T.J. Capel 43 and Parker Wilson 43. Cole Treece and Ethan Bearden each finished at 47 with Yates Prickett at 53, Drew Kelly 60 and Corbin Beard 62.
Bryant is set to compete again on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Conway’s Nutter Chapel.
