BENTON —The Benton Civitan Club will host the third annual Hook a Heart Bass Tournament on Oct. 9 to benefit Civitan Services and the men, women and children they serve. The tournament will be held on Lake Hamilton at the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Fish Hatchery in Hot Springs. To make sure the tournament is run professionally, Civitan has partnered with Frank Leone, experienced tournament director and owner of get5bass.com.[more]
The tournament is open to all amateur anglers 16 years and older and there should be two fishers per boat. Entry fee is $100 per boat and should be turned in to Civitan Services. Entries turned in after Oct. 1 will have a $25 late penalty.
The first place team is guaranteed a $1,000 cash prize. Cash and prizes will also be awarded to teams finishing second through fifth place but the total payout will be determined by the number of boat entries. Fishermen will also have the opportunity to pay to enter and win a cash prize for the biggest bass weighed in for the day.
To register for the tournament or to get a copy of the official rules, contact the Civitan Center Monday through Friday at 776-0691. You can also download an entry form at www.civitanservices.com or pick one up from various local fishing and sporting goods retailers.
The Hook a Heart tournament will help raise funds for the various preschool and adult programs at Civitan Services. Civitan Services has always been a place of care, support, encouragement, learning and most importantly, love for people with developmental disabilities of all ages. The commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of all the clients is deeply rooted in the hearts of all those who are a part of Civitan Services from therapists and teachers to assistants and volunteers.
