The Bryant Athletic Association has announced new partnerships for 2013 with SUPER SERIES[more] BASEBALL, Landers Auto, City of Bryant, Bryant Boys and Girls Club, Bryant Rotary Club, Keep Bryant Beautiful and the Bryant Senior Citizens.
There will be a "Premier Series of Baseball Tournaments" sponsored and hosted by those partners at Bishop Park with the proceeds split between the BAA and the local non-profit organizations involved.
This is a effort by the BAA to continue its long tradition of community service, which includes contributing over $50,000 in academic scholarships to Bryant High School seniors, donating $5,000 to the Dumas baseball program and $1,000 to the Sylvan Hills baseball program after both were damaged by tornadoes, as well as many other contributions to those in need.
The BAA has spent or allocated over $100,000 for park improvements at Bryant’s Ashley Park and Bishop Park including $40,000 for batting cages at Bishop Park in 2013.
The Association has a storied past in youth baseball including teams appearing on national television five times, winning two World Series and numerous Regional and State Championships. In addition over 75 players coming through the program, attending Bryant High School and participating in the American Legion program, have received college baseball scholarships.
With the addition of Bishop Park, it will enable the BAA in conjunction with the City and the other non-profit organizations to host quality SUPER SERIES BASEBALL tournaments including one in April, two in May and three in June including the SUPER SERIES STATE TOURNAMENT.
The BAA has also qualified to host a Babe Ruth World Series and members are working to make that happen in the near future.
These tournaments figure to have a large impact on the economy of Bryant while also helping local charities.
The building of the BAA baseball program with over 1,000 volunteers and the decision of the Bryant citizens to build Bishop Park has contributed to make it truly a community effort that will continue to be a win/win/win for Bryant.
