Bryant Police have made arrests in three convenience store robberies and a kidnapping,[more] pistol-whipping hold-up within the month.
Police say Shawn Fleming went into the Big Red Valero on Springhill and asked an employee for change. When the clerk opened the register, Fleming reached over the counter and grabbed a stack of $20's and ran away, police said.
The following day two similar thefts occurred at the I-30 Superstop and the Bryant Exxon. Police say that the man matched the description of Fleming. Fleming was arrested in Hot Springs on Dec. 12 and charged with three counts of property theft.
On Monday, Dec. 17, Bryant Police responded to an aggravated robbery and caught the suspect.
Police arrested a man and a woman who robbed and pistol-whipped a man behind the Target at the Alcoa Exchange.
According to a press release from the Bryant Police Department, Richard Palonares was walking in the Target parking lot when Sara Seawright, whom he knew, stopped and offered him a ride. Palonares told the BPD that Seawright drove behind Target where LeDarius Leron Scales robbed him at gunpoint and struck him in the head with the pistol.
According to the release, detectives tracked Scales and Seawright in a car before making an arrest. Scales is charged with aggravated robbery, first-degree battery, tampering with evidence and theft of property. Seawright was charged with aggravated robbery, first-degree battery, kidnapping, hindering apprehension and tampering with evidence.
