Annual Chamber Golf Tournament set for June 10

The 12th Annual Bryant Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament sponsored by[more] Landers Auto Group of Saline County on Thursday, June 10 at Hurricane Golf Course is shifting focus. Rather than a really long shot as a really big prize, the tournament this year will focus on prizes that are a sure thing for some golfers.

“We’ve had the million dollar hole in one shot out for a couple of years,” said chairman Clint Walker of Summit Bank. “While it added an element of excitement, we have decided to focus this year on prizes we know someone will win.” Those prizes include camping gear and golf clubs.

The proceeds from the golf tournament this year will help to fund lunches for new member orientations, Coffee and Knowledge seminars (May 17 is Customer Service), upkeep for the Welcome to Bryant signs and flags and efforts to encourage chamber members to frequent other chamber members’ businesses. “We want everyone to know how they are contributing to the growth of this community by supporting the Bryant Area Chamber of Commerce tournament,” Walker said.

“To amp up the fun, we are adding a new bonus ball feature,” said Walker. Oneteam member will use the colored ball per hole. At the end of the day, whichever team has thelowest score using the colored ball wins prizes.

Registrants can contact the Chamber or the golf course for the registration forms. Fees for the four-person team are $340. Mulligans can be purchased for $10 each, one per team member. Registration can be achieved online at the Bryant Area Chamber’s website Bryant-ar.com.

Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. First Security Bank will grill hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch. The shotgun start is at 1 p.m.

Hole sponsors are also sought. Anyone — businesses, individuals, — cansponsor a hole ($100). Sponsors will need to let the Chamber know so a sponsor sign can be created and placed on the course.
