For those parents of Bryant gifted and talented students[more], the Arkansas Gifted and Talented Education Conference (AGATE) will be held from Feb. 16 through Feb. 18 at the Peabody Hotel in Little Rock.
There will be a Parent Institute held on Feb. 17.
“Any parents of gifted children or anyone interested in the welfare of gifted children are invited,” said Lynn Harrison, supervisor for Bryant Gifted programs.
Registration is 7:30 to 9 a.m. with breakout sessions beginning at 8. The opening keynote speaker begins at 9 in the Peabody Ballroom.
Registration for the “Gifted and the National Agenda: How Do We Weave Talent Development into the Conversation?” is only $25 and this fee includes a full day of activities, lunch, and a membership in AGATE for 2010-11. Nancy Green, Executive Director the National Association for Gifted Children will be the featured speaker, “Advocating for Gifted Learners: 10 Ways to Make Your Case.”
