There are notably contested races for City Council seats in Ward 1 and Ward 4 in Bryant this year. As time ticks to election day next Tuesday, last minute plans and strategies are being carried out to finish out a long campaign.

Lady Hornets head home after loss to State tourney host Bentonville (updated with details, comments)

BENTONVILLE — The home-standing Bentonville Lady Tigers, who tied for the 7A-West Conference championship, brought an end to the landmark season of the Bryant Lady Hornets, 25-15, 25-11, 25-15, at the Class 7A State Tournament on Wednesday.

The 7A-West completed a sweep of the quarterfinals of the tournament. Fort Smith Southside defeated Mount St. Mary Academy of Little Rock, 25-23, 13-25, 25-23, 25-16; Fayetteville ousted North Little Rock, 25-16, 25-9, 25-18; and fourth-seeded Springdale Har-Ber stunned 7A-Central champion Conway, 25-18, 25-22, 25-22.

Fish fry before Bryant-NLR game to benefit Boys & Girls Club of Bryant

In an effort to raise funds to support over 400 kids who attend the Boys and Girls Club of Bryant, Board members are planning the second annual Fish Fry on Friday, Oct.29 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Bryant Middle School Cafeteria.

“If you’re already planning to come to the Bryant vs. North Little Rock football game on Friday, come a little early and join us for some delicious food and support a wonderful organization that is truly making a difference in the lives of children in our community,” said Christina Long, Board President.

Cow Chip Bingo returns to benefit BHS varsity cheerleaders trip to Orlando

The Bryant High School varsity cheerleaders will be hosting the second annual Cow Chip Bingo on Senior Night Friday, Oct. 29 when the Bryant Hornets football team hosts the North Little Rock Charging Wildcats.

All proceeds will go to help the squad go to nationals in Orlando, Fla. Last year, they brought back the trophy for fourth place in the nation.
